The Village of Strange Celebrations
In a faraway place nestled among mountains and forests, there was a village called “Nur Al-Nada.” This village was unique, unlike any other. In “Nur Al-Nada,” the people loved celebrating Christmas more than anything else in their lives. They decorated the village with sparkling lights and ornaments all year round, and children sang Christmas carols every morning. However, the strange twist was that the villagers despised holidays and vacations. They believed holidays made people lazy and distracted them from work and achieving their goals.
Main Characters
Prince Aziz: The strict ruler of the village, a wise but old-fashioned man who believed hard work was the foundation of life. He had a strong dislike for any time spent without productivity.
Dawood: The prince’s 17-year-old son, a dreamer with a vivid imagination. Like the rest of the village, he loved Christmas, but he often wondered why people hated holidays. He believed that taking a break was an essential part of life.
The Beginning of the Story
Dawood sat by the window of his father’s palace, watching the children in the square as they hung golden bells on the giant Christmas tree that stood in the village center. He turned to his father, who was sitting by the fireplace, and said:
Dawood: “Father, why don’t we ever take a real holiday? Why can’t we stop working for a few days to simply enjoy life?”
Prince Aziz sighed, his tone stern but calm.
Prince Aziz: “Dawood, holidays ruin the mind and weaken the spirit. We celebrate Christmas because it symbolizes hard work and creativity, but resting for too long is dangerous. Rest is the enemy of progress.”
Dawood frowned, unconvinced.
Dawood: “But Father, how can rest be bad if it gives us the energy to think and work better?”
Prince Aziz waved his hand dismissively, refusing to entertain the thought. Dawood, however, couldn’t let it go.
The Secret Plan
Determined to change his father’s mind, Dawood devised a secret plan. He gathered the villagers in private meetings and shared his idea.
Dawood: “What if this Christmas, instead of decorating and working nonstop, we make it a true holiday? No work, no noise—just relaxation and time with loved ones. Let’s show my father that rest can bring us joy and strength.”
At first, the villagers were hesitant, but Dawood’s passion convinced them. They prepared in secret, keeping their plan hidden from the prince.
The Confrontation
When Christmas Day arrived, Prince Aziz stepped out of the palace and was stunned. The village was completely dark. Shops were closed, and the usual bustling energy of the holiday was replaced by a calm stillness. Furious, the prince stormed into the village square.
Prince Aziz: “What is going on? How dare you betray our traditions and stop working on Christmas Day?”
Dawood stepped forward, standing tall before his father.
Dawood: “Father, we haven’t betrayed anything. We’re still celebrating Christmas, but in a different way. Rest is not our enemy—it is part of life. It makes us stronger and more creative.”
The prince’s eyes narrowed as he scanned the calm, happy faces of his people.
Prince Aziz: “And you think abandoning work for a day will make us stronger? This is nonsense.”
Dawood: “Just try it, Father. Allow yourself a moment to pause, and you’ll see how much it can restore you.”
The Resolution
That evening, Dawood invited his father to sit with him and listen to the villagers. For the first time, Prince Aziz allowed himself to rest and enjoy the warmth of the holiday. He began to see the joy it brought to his people and realized that rest wasn’t a weakness—it was a necessity.
From that day forward, “Nur Al-Nada” became known not only for its love of Christmas but also for its respect for balance. They continued to work hard but learned to embrace rest and reflection as part of their celebrations.
Prince Aziz smiled at his son, realizing the wisdom in his words.
Prince Aziz: “You were right, Dawood. Rest doesn’t weaken us—it makes us stronger. Thank you for showing me a new way.”
Dawood beamed with pride, knowing he had changed his father’s heart and the fate of the village forever.
